Aloha Community Members,
As HULA continues to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we wanted to provide an update regarding our upcoming Spring League and other Ultimate-related activities. With UH cancelling in-person classes, employers enacting work-from-home policies, and UH sporting events and local road races postponed or cancelled, we feel that we must act to keep our community members safe as well as do our part to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus.
With that in mind, effective immediately, HULA will be suspending Spring League until Saturday, March 28. During this time, HULA also cautions against attending practices, ultimate clinics, or pick-up games.
League games on March 28 remain scheduled as planned. Since Spring League is a multi-month league, there is a possibility that games can be rescheduled if play resumes. As a result, we will handle all matters of league registration fee credits on an individual basis, when we can make a determination if we need to cancel Spring League entirely.
HULA will continue to review guidelines from the CDC, the Hawaii Department of Health, and the Honolulu local government as we consider the long-term implications of the Coronavirus outbreak on our leagues and related activities. We will continue to provide updates via email and social media channels. We recognize that this is upsetting news in uncertain times, but we hope you understand that we have made this difficult decision in the best interest of our community’s safety.
Please feel free to contact me at with any questions or concerns. On behalf of the HULA Board of Directors and community – thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
